Effective date: October 3, 2026
FreeSoundTools (the "Site") explains here how personal information is handled, in line with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea and Article 31 of its Enforcement Decree. The Site has no sign-up or login, and does not send the files you add or your microphone audio to a server.
1. Purpose of processing
The Site operator does not directly collect or store users' personal information. The third-party services described in sections 3, 7 and 11 may process connection data to deliver the website, keep it secure and show ads.
2. Information processed
| Category | Items | Processed by |
|---|---|---|
| Collected directly by the Site operator | None | - |
| Generated automatically when you visit | IP address, time of access, requested URL, browser and device information, referring page | Hosting, CDN and model providers (section 7) |
| If ads are shown | Cookies, advertising identifiers, IP address, browser and device information, pages visited | Ad providers (section 11) |
| Files or audio you add or record | Not processed by us (handled only in your browser, never sent to a server) | - |
The Site does not set cookies to identify you. Speech recognition models are kept in your browser's storage (Cache Storage). This storage is never sent to the operator's server, and you can clear it with your browser's "clear site data" option.
3. Retention period
The Site operator does not keep personal information. Connection data processed by third parties is kept according to each provider's policy (links in section 7). For example, jsDelivr states that it processes IP addresses for statistics and deletes them after aggregating them within a few hours (as of its March 2, 2022 notice).
4. Deletion
Because the operator holds no personal information, there is no separate deletion procedure. You can delete models and cookies stored in your browser yourself in your browser settings.
5. Sharing with third parties
The Site does not provide personal information to third parties.
6. Service providers
| Provider | Service |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Website hosting, content delivery, security |
7. International transfers
When you use the Site, your browser connects directly to the servers of the overseas providers below, and connection data such as your IP address is passed to them. Your file contents are not.
| Recipient | Country | Items | Purpose | When and how | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/) | United States (stored mainly in the US and EEA, accessible from locations worldwide) | IP address, time of access, requested URL, browser and device information | Website delivery and security | Sent automatically over the network when you visit | Per the provider's policy |
| Hugging Face, Inc. (https://huggingface.co/privacy) | United States (servers), with an entity in France | IP address, time of access, browser and device information | Providing speech recognition model files | The first time you use the speech-to-text or subtitle tools | Per the provider's policy |
| Volentio JSD Limited (jsDelivr, https://www.jsdelivr.com/terms/privacy-policy) | United Kingdom (operating entity), servers in many countries | IP address, time of access, browser information | Providing speech recognition runtime files | When you use the tools above | States that data is aggregated and deleted within a few hours |
| Google LLC and other ad providers | United States and others | Cookies, advertising identifiers, IP address | Showing ads (if ads are turned on) | When ads are displayed | Per the provider's policy |
How to opt out: if you don't use the tools that need these external connections (speech-to-text and subtitles, currently on our Korean site), no model or runtime requests are sent to those providers. Connecting to the Site itself requires hosting and can't be refused. In Text to Speech, choosing a voice marked "online" may send your text to the browser provider's servers. That processing follows the policy of the browser or operating system provider.
8. Children
The Site has no sign-up and does not collect personal information, so it has no procedure for obtaining a legal guardian's consent to process the personal information of children under 14. We do not show personalized ads based on the activity of users we know to be under 13. The Site is not directed primarily at children.
9. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or stop the processing of your personal information. Because the operator holds no personal information, please send requests about information held by third parties to those providers. To contact the operator, use the address below.
10. Security measures
- The Site is served over HTTPS.
- Your files and audio are processed only on your device and are not sent to a server.
- Access to the operator's hosting account is restricted and its password is managed securely.
11. Cookies, analytics and ads
- The Site does not set cookies itself. Visit statistics: to see which pages are used most, the Site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics by Cloudflare, Inc. It does not use cookies or browser storage, and it collects information such as the page URL, the previous page (referrer), browser and device type, and country, showing it only as aggregate statistics. It does not collect the files or content you add or enter, and the operator cannot identify individual visitors from these statistics. Processing follows the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- If ads are turned on: third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at www.aboutads.info. For details, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features may be limited.
- Before turning on ads, we will update this policy with a specific list of ad providers and the behavioral data they process.
