Terms of Use

Effective date: October 3, 2026 (amended October 5, 2026: added the AI voice terms to section 3)

1. Purpose and service

These terms set out the conditions for using the audio and music web tools provided by FreeSoundTools (the "Site"). The Site provides, free of charge, tools that process files inside the user's device (browser), and covers its running costs with ads.

2. Effect and changes

These terms apply to everyone who uses the Site. If we change the terms, we will post a notice on this page before the effective date. If you don't agree with the changed terms, you can stop using the Site.

3. User obligations and prohibited conduct

You must not do any of the following.

  1. Infringe other people's rights, such as copyright, portrait rights or personal information, for example by processing files you have no right to use (other people's music, videos or recordings) and copying or distributing them
  2. Secretly record a private conversation between other people that you are not part of, or process, publish or disclose such a recording on the Site (this can be a crime, for example under Korea's Protection of Communications Secrets Act)
  3. Use the Site's features, such as voice changing, to impersonate or deceive others, or for fraud such as voice phishing, threats, defamation, impersonating officials or organizations, or any other illegal purpose
  4. Put excessive load on the Site or external services, or interfere with their normal operation
  5. Redistribute in violation of the license terms of the open-source software and models the Site uses

You are responsible for any consequences of violating these terms or the law.

Terms for the AI voice ("High-quality AI voice")

The "High-quality AI voice" option of the text-to-speech tool runs Supertone's Supertonic 3 model inside your browser. The model is licensed under the BigScience Open RAIL-M License, and you agree not to use the model or its derivatives for the following uses (use-based restrictions in Attachment A of that license). If you break this clause, you may not use that feature.

  1. In any way that violates any applicable national, federal, state, local or international law or regulation
  2. To exploit, harm or attempt to exploit or harm minors in any way
  3. To generate or disseminate verifiably false information and/or content with the purpose of harming others
  4. To generate or disseminate personal identifiable information that can be used to harm an individual
  5. To generate or disseminate content and place it in any context without expressly and intelligibly disclaiming that it is machine generated
  6. To defame, disparage or otherwise harass others
  7. To impersonate or attempt to impersonate others (e.g. deepfakes) without their consent
  8. For fully automated decision making that adversely impacts an individual's legal rights or otherwise creates or modifies a binding, enforceable obligation
  9. For any use intended to or which has the effect of discriminating against or harming individuals or groups based on online or offline social behavior or known or predicted personal or personality characteristics
  10. To exploit any of the vulnerabilities of a specific group of persons based on their age, social, physical or mental characteristics in a manner that causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm
  11. For any use intended to or which has the effect of discriminating against individuals or groups based on legally protected characteristics or categories
  12. To provide medical advice and medical results interpretation
  13. To generate or disseminate information for the administration of justice, law enforcement, immigration or asylum processes, such as predicting that an individual will commit fraud or a crime

4. Copyright

5. Limits of results

Results such as speech recognition, subtitles, BPM and key, and melody-to-MIDI conversion are produced automatically and can be wrong. We publish the error rates we measured in our guides, but real recordings may produce more errors. Don't use results as they are for important purposes such as medical, legal, contractual or evidentiary use; check the original. The Site does not guarantee the accuracy of results. The information on this Site is not legal advice.

6. Changes to or suspension of the service

The operator may change the service or suspend part or all of it. Where possible, we will give notice on this page or on the Site in advance.

7. External services

The speech recognition tools download models and runtime files from external services such as Hugging Face and jsDelivr. Outages or policy changes at those services may stop the tools from working. For privacy matters, see the Privacy Policy.

8. Ads

Ads may be shown on the Site. The operator is not responsible for the content of ads or the advertisers' products.

9. Disclaimer

The Site is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for file damage, data loss, problems with your device, or losses caused by your violation of the law that occur while using the Site. Keep separate copies of important original files. This section may not apply to damage caused by the operator's intent or gross negligence.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be resolved in the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.

11. Operator and contact

Checked: October 3, 2026. These terms are not legal advice.
