When to use it
- Fix wrong or garbled song titles before copying to a phone or car
- Add album art to your own recordings or podcast episodes
- Number tracks so they play in the right order
How to use
- Drop an MP3 file. The existing tags (ID3v2 or ID3v1) are shown.
- Edit the fields and pick a JPG or PNG for the album art if you want one.
- Press "Save tags and download MP3".
- The saved file is read back and only downloaded if every tag matches what you entered.
Supported formats and limits
- Input: MP3 only (convert other formats with the Audio Converter first)
- Writes ID3v2.3 with UTF-16 text so non-Latin characters display correctly
- Large album art is resized to 800 px JPEG
Tips for better results
- Old ID3v1 tags that can break non-Latin text are removed when you save.
- Track numbers can be written as 3 or 3/12.
- The audio frames are copied byte for byte, so sound quality does not change.
FAQ
Does editing tags change the sound?
No. Only the tag block at the start of the file is rewritten; the audio data stays byte-identical.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The file is edited in your browser.
Can I edit M4A or FLAC tags?
Not yet. Only MP3 (ID3) is supported.
Why does my player still show old tags?
Some players cache tags. Re-add the file or refresh the library.
