WAV to MP3 Converter Free Online

- Choose MP3 as the output format.

- For multiple files, download all at once as a ZIP.
How it works
WAV audio is decoded and re-encoded as MP3 using a built-in encoder running entirely in your browser. The conversion preserves audio quality at your chosen bitrate while dramatically reducing file size (a typical WAV file becomes 5-10x smaller as MP3). Nothing is uploaded. How to verify. Also available as a free REST API for developers and AI agents (edge-processed, zero retention).

FAQ
How much smaller is MP3 compared to WAV?
At 192 kbps, an MP3 file is typically 5-10x smaller than the same audio in WAV format.
What bitrate should I use?
128 kbps is fine for speech. 192 kbps is good for most music. 320 kbps is the highest and sounds nearly identical to WAV.
Can I convert multiple WAV files at once?
Yes. Add several files and they are converted one by one. Download all results as a ZIP.
Does the conversion lose quality?
MP3 is lossy, so some quality is lost. At 192 kbps or higher, the difference from WAV is usually inaudible.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Your files stay on your device.
