Use this when you only need part of a track, or want to turn several files into one.

Cutting

  1. Add your file to the MP3 Cutter.
  2. Drag across the waveform to select the part you want to keep. Use the play button to check it.
  3. Press "Keep selection". If the end stops abruptly, press "Fade out 0.5 s".
  4. Save as MP3 or WAV.

For a ringtone, keep it under about 30 seconds and add a short fade at the start and end so it sounds natural. Which formats a phone accepts differs by model, so check your phone's settings.

Joining

Our merge tool is currently available on the Korean site only (Korean interface). It works like this:

  1. Add several files to the merge tool.
  2. Set the order with the ▲▼ buttons.
  3. To smooth the transition between tracks, set a crossfade of 1 to 2 seconds.
  4. Merge and save.

About sound quality

MP3 is a lossy format that throws away some sound information. If you cut an MP3 and save it as MP3 again, it is compressed one more time, so the quality can drop very slightly. Cut from the original only once when you can. If quality matters, save as WAV.
